| Innovative teaching-learning techniques for people with visual disabilities

In the teaching-learning process it is important to efficiently communicate and generate the appropriate educational situations or environments that lead to proper learning. Many of these situations and educational environments are based on visual representations. The teaching-learning process of visual subjects such as audiovisual productions, or abstract subjects such as geometry to blind and visually impaired people are very difficult due to the abstractions and visual forms that this represents. In a process of educational communication it is important that the meanings are the same for all, so that at the moment of the interpretation of concepts, students, and especially those who lack sight, can mentally represent conceptual abstractions concepts that professors confer. Blindness itself represents a learning problem due to the fact that in many occasions it is difficult for a teacher to convert visual symbols to symbols of spoken language, that is, to have an effective educational communication.

Therefore, the present research project includes the development and evaluation of an innovative method based on computational techniques of virtual reality and haptic systems for the improvement of the teaching-learning process and inclusion of people with disabilities.
